Successful Silver Lake Neighborhood Garage Sale To Help Our Local Public Schools

This past Saturday, Nov. 5th, was the first annual Silver Lake Neighborhood garage sale to help support our local public schools. Each household donated 10% of their proceeds to Thomas Starr King Middle School. The students from King Middle School sponsored two lemonade and yummy pastry stands with 100% of the proceeds going to their school. I want to thank Lark Bakery, Sweets for the Soul, Proof Bakery, Trader Joe’s, and Laura Kruper for being so generous with their donations.  This event was such a great success that I am planning on doing it again in May 2012. If you live in Silver lake and want to participate in the next one, let me know. This time we will be raising money for our local high school, Marshall High.
